Cardinal Vault Club

Josh Winder- Josh has been coaching at the North Central College Pole Vault Camp for 4 years. Josh was the IHSA State Pole Vaulting champion in 2008. He is also a lifelong member of the Winder way of pole vaulting. Josh concluded his senior season at NCC with his final of two NCAA national championships that he won while competing for the Cardinals. With a personal best of 17’4 ½” both indoors and outdoors, Josh uses his experience as a high caliber vaulter to teach campers the basics of vaulting at a high level. Josh is currently the CCIW conference record holder with a vault of 17’1 ½”. Josh is a six time All-American in the pole vault, earning All-American honors on each trip to the NCAA championships. Josh was a many time Academic NCAA All-American and won the Jack Swartz Academic ALL-CCIW award as a senior at NCC.

Jake Winder -Jake Winder has been coaching in the North Central Pole Vaulting Camps for 5 years. Jake was the 2005 IHSA State Pole Vaulting Champion. Jake’s experience as an elite USA vaulter, help enrich the camp experience for camp participants. Jake is a lifetime member of the “Winder” way of pole vaulting, and has taught numerous aspiring vaulters the training and techinique tips involved in high level vaulting. Jake is a competitive elite vaulter in the USA and Europe, and brings intangibles to the camp setting that are unique and valued. Some of Jake’s vaulting credentials are below.

Tim Winder- A 1983 graduate of Texas A&M University – Kingsville, Coach Winder begins his 26th year of coaching the pole vault. Winder was an, IHSA state pole vault champion in 1979, multiple NCAA qualifier, and All-American while attending university. A 17 foot vaulter himself, Winder blends his vaulting experience and proven instructional methods to teach the technical aspects of vaulting. Over the years there have been many IHSA State Qualifers, All-State, and State Champion vaulters attend the camp. Winder instructs using a systematic approach of training and vaulting that has been developed over Winder’s life time of experience in the pole vault.
